Linguistics in the Pub in London May meeting

The next meeting of Linguistics in the Pub in London (LIPIL) will be Tuesday 2nd May 2017 at 6pm. The discussion topic is Documenting language in the home.

Many subfields of linguistics focus on language use in context — and one of the most fundamental contexts is the family. This discussion will focus on linguistic research that centres on the family sphere. We will focus on the sociolinguistic implications for studying language across generations, including language maintenance and bi/multilingual language practices, drawing on both ‘traditional’ and ‘urban’ fieldwork scenarios.
